Like many of the Westport skippers, Dave grew up in the charter fishing business.  Starting at age 11, he deckhanded for his dad, Warren, spending summers aboard his charter boat in lure of Big Salmon.  In those days there were no electronic fish finders or GPS systems to help navigate and find fish.  Dave learned from seasoned skippers the skill of finding fish, watching bird life, water patterns and bait patches where the big fish hand out.

While today Dave's Discovery is loaded with every electronic fishing device, he still relies on his old fashioned skills to find fish.  The old salts taught him that when the fish aren't biting, you need to "reel um up" and start scouting.  As many of our customers will attest, this pays off when Dave discovers yet another patch of mighty Pacific salmon, halibut or rockfish.

Captain Dave has spent many years running charters out of Westport and Neah Bay, Washington and has a reputation for providing a first class charter.  He prides himself on the superb upkeep he does on the vessel and it's equipment.
